Pass-through Entity Withholding and Composite Return Tax Forms

In accordance with changes signed into law in June of 2022, a larger business registrant will be required to use electronic means to file returns and remit taxes to the State of Rhode Island for tax periods beginning on or after January 1, 2023.   Visit our Electronic Filing Mandate page for more information on this requirement.

  • To have forms mailed to you, please call 401.574.8970
  • Most forms now contain a 1D barcode. Please use Microsoft Edge to get the best results when downloading a form. Firefox users will need to change their Portable Document Format to allow the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Looking for Form RI-1096PT-ES for tax year 2023?  

Changes are coming for tax year 2023 for pass-through withholding filers.  Beginning with tax year 2023, pass-through withholding will be reported on a schedule that will be part of Forms RI-1041, RI-1065 and RI-1120S.  Therefore, any estimate you make for pass-through withholding for tax year 2023 should be made on either Form RI-1041ES (for Fiduciary filers) or BUS-EST (for corporate filers).  See Advisory #2023-07 for more information.
